Arborvitae, Thuja occidentalis 'Emerald Green.' USDA zones 3-8. Makes an excellent hedge or screen, as they are evergreen, fast growing, with a mature height of 12-14' x 3-4' wide. Nativar to all east coast states plus much of the midwest, very cold-hardy. These are rooted cuttings, 5"-8" tall + roots.
These are still young, small plants, but they can easily and economically be sent through the mail. Rooted cuttings are started from a parent plant and have all the same qualities as the parent. They can either be planted in pots, or directly in the ground. You can even bury a bundle of them in a pile of mulch for a week, a month, over over winter, covering all roots but leaving the foliage above the surface of the mulch. Then remove them from the mulch when you are ready to plant them. They can take some frost and freezing weather as long as the roots are under the surface of the soil or mulch.
