Liatris spicata, also called Blazing Star. zones 3-8. Native to the eastern US, Blazing Star is a summer blooming perennial known for its bright and showy pink/red flowers have a bottle-brush form. Grows 2-4′ high, does well in fun sun or partial shade. It makes a great cut flower and is deer resistant. 

They flower during the first summer after planting in the spring.

They do well in full sun. Sold as corms (underground swollen plant stems) about the size of a large acorn. Not available for shipping until mid-March.
