Sweetshrub. Calycanthus floridus (species). USDA z4-9. Also called Carolina Allspice, it is a dense, rounded shrub which grows 6-9' high and wide. The fragrant blooms are said to be similar to the scents of pineapple, strawberry, and banana. Sold as a bare root plant, ready to go into a pot or into the ground, 18-24" plus roots.
