USDA z4-9. Nyssa sylvatica, also known as tupelo, black tupelo, black gum or sour gum, is a medium-sized deciduous tree native to eastern North America and west to Texas. It provides stunning fall color, bringing many shade of yellow, orange, bright red, purple, and scarlet. Develops bark that furrows with age. Sold as a bare root plant, 18-24" plus roots.
