Tulip poplar. Liriodendron tulipifera. Tulip Poplar, aka Yellow Poplar, is a large deciduous tree named for its attractive tulip-like flowers. Native to all of the eastern US, as well as much of the Midwest and Texas, it is a member of the magnolia family. It is adaptable to a broad range of soil pH and does well in full sun to part shade. Over time it will grow to be a very large tree. The tulip poplar is a favorite nesting site for birds, and the flowers attract butterflies and hummingbirds. 

Sold as a bare root plant, 18-24" plus roots.
