This plant, also referred to as the low juneberry, or thicket shadbush, is native to most of eastern and part of the Midwest US. It has edible fruit, which are classified as pomes. They can be eaten raw or cooked.
Grows in full sun to part shade. It stays short, typically 4’ or less. It spreads outward by root suckers, which can cause it to form a larger colony over time, with a spread of 4-10 feet. Grows in full sun to part shade. A great native plant that stays small.
